We have the opportunity to do something meaningful now that will become a catalyst for change, helping everyone around us. There is a problem in our community, a gap in services, and an organization that we want to support is creating solutions and getting people the help they need.
We know the power of mental health treatment. We have the privilege of seeing it firsthand every day at Kelly Mental Health. Trust, timing, and skill are the keys to each individual deconstructing the bindings that keep them stuck and powerless. And there aren’t enough resources available to our community members. We all know it, of course, because so many of us have lived in that gap and fallen through the cracks ourselves.
KMH Wellness Foundation (formerly Kelly Mental Health Foundation) was started as a non-profit volunteer-run organization to bridge this gap. In the years since inception, they have used donated funds to coordinate and directly cover the costs of counselling services within a network of highly-skilled private practitioners here in Thunder Bay.
Since 2019, KMH Wellness Foundation has covered 304 sessions for individuals in our community, with an average wait time of 2 days to get an applicant in front of a vetted, trusted, licensed therapist. Many sessions were trauma-focused, specialized services that are difficult to get through public programs, like Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Crisis Debriefing, all of which are that much more effective when accessed at the exact right time for that person.
This year, we are committed to eliminating barriers and resolving challenges for our community members by raising funds for the KMH Wellness Foundation’s community initiatives.

Our annual Magical Delusions Charity Gala in support of the KMH Wellness Foundation will take place at the Delta Hotel located at 2240 Sleeping Giant Pkwy, Thunder Bay, on May 5th, 2023, from 6 PM - 1 AM. The night will be overflowing with magical entertainment by Mackinley's Delusions, a full-course meal provided by the Delta Hotel, beautiful decor by Swag Events cash bar beverages, a spectacular door prize, a silent auction worth thousands of dollars, music and dancing provided by Thunder & Light Entertainment, in-person giveaways, and more. The proceeds of this incredible night to remember will go directly to funded counselling services for those who cannot afford to access mental health and wellness services.
