Workshops & Seminars Are Available In-Person & Virtual
We design and present accessible workshops and seminars to help raise awareness and engage with our community in productive, effective, and educational discussions surrounding mental health. The clinical staff from Kelly Mental Health have a lot of knowledge to share about mental health, treatment, and skills that can help people overcome obstacles and become the best versions of themselves.
Why a Registered Clinician?
We are proud to provide mental health education from the most well-trained and educated people in the field. A trained clinician can help to make sense of the psychology, relationship dynamics, interpersonal stressors, and physiological changes that drive the development of mental health challenges. Additionally, having a trained clinician providing this information means they can respond effectively to people that may be impacted by the information.
Do I want a Seminar or a Workshop?
That all depends on how much activity you want for your group! Seminars are lectures where the speaker does a lot of talking, and apart from a question-and-answer period at the end, participants are not expected to interact. They can calmly sit back and watch the show. Seminars are for sharing information and usually only require one speaker regardless of the size of the group. So pricing reflects the cost of prep, travel (not applicable if done online), and the time to complete the seminar itself for one Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker.
A workshop will take much of the same information as in a seminar, but will feature activities for your group so they have a chance to try out some skills, interact with one another, problem-solve, and discuss what they learn throughout the service. Workshops on mental health topics often need a little more help, so one facilitator can do a workshop for 10-12 participants at a time. Larger groups should ideally have 1 facilitator per each 10-12 people. This ensures that there are enough people in the room to guide each group in their activities, and that we have someone that can take people aside to offer a debrief if session topics trigger intense emotions, without interrupting the flow of the service.
