Family Therapy
Relationships within families are dynamic and unique and can be understood on many levels. Family therapy is just as unique. This therapy focuses on the following factors but not limited to the following:
- Builds emotionally connected relationships
- Creates a better understanding of each other
- Builds a healthy support system
- Works through difficult situations
Family therapy looks at the patterns of behaviour between family members, helps family members to better understand each other’s worlds, to increase healthy communication and boundaries, to resolve conflict, and to express one’s feelings and needs in order to build emotional connections and to strengthen and nurture familial relationships. Our therapists use an eclectic approach to therapy drawing upon different empirically researched interventions and theories such as Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, the Gottman Method, Family Systems, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
*Please note that the family’s needs will be individually assessed, and a treatment plan will be collaboratively created within the first three sessions with the therapist. Please keep in mind that pricing varies with treatment plans. Please contact our office to discuss pricing further.
